Meet The Member - Sean Fletcher of Travel Four Seasons
travel four seasons
We interviewed our member Sean of Travel Four Seasons to talk about travel - one of everyones favourite topics.
Tell us a bit about yourself and life before ‘Travel Four Seasons’
I love travel, if that wasn’t a given, and we’re nearly 10 years old at TFS now so life before that is a bit of a blur. I used to own some other retail businesses in St. Albans and Hemel. I loved the business side but not the products, so that led me to travel and I haven’t looked back since.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
The diversity, every day feels different and what we do is fun.
Do you have a personal favourite holiday destination and why?
I have two if we narrow it down. Australia for long haul and Italy for short haul. Australia as it has everything from great cities, life, beaches, and amazing diversity. Italy as I love the culture, wine, and sights.
Tell us about a holiday that did not go to plan
Sunny Beach Bulgaria… many years go. We got bumped from our hotel with a few days’ notice and moved to one nearby that wasn’t great, plus the whole resort felt like it was built out of plywood.
What 5 things do you always pack in your suitcase?
Chargers – more important than underwear
Medicine bag, nothing worse than a hotel room hangover
Other family members things as they run of space
Travel Document pack, always printed copies of all we’ll need
Too much… I always pack too much!
Top tips for anyone travelling abroad?
Travel with printed copies of your passports, as it’s much easier to sort a lost passport abroad if you have a copy. Plus, always look to do some kind of tour in destination, local guides add so much immersion into the culture and history plus it adds some nice income to the local economy.
What’s the most popular honeymoon destination?
Mauritius and Maldives a close second.
Going on holiday as a family can be tricky. What advice would you give to families wanting to find a perfect holiday experience?
Focus on the adults, the kids will get their turn 😊 Only joking. As a father to two unruly children, I always overthink what they want or need. Sometimes a pool and ball to catch was enough in hindsight, plus Wi-Fi… The perfect holiday experience is personal, so the best thing you can do is seek out a great travel professional who can link you up with the right resort or holiday style ideas.
Where would you love to go on holiday, but haven’t yet been? Why?
The list grows… but the top is South Africa… It’s a tough one as opposite to us on weather so takes some planning as a family for Christmas or wintertime. But it ticks many boxes on the wildlife and culture plus food and drink.
What are your favourite things about working in Harpenden and where are your go to hotspots?
I love the feel of the High Street, our local clients are all amazing, happy, friendly, and down to earth. We support Zaza’s here with our client referral voucher scheme, and we have the best neighbours in Friends Hair Design.
