Meet The Member - Sandrine of Lush Nutrition
Meet the member - lush nutrition
We had the pleasure of interviewing our member Sandrine of Lush Nutrition to find out more about her and how she can help you.
Hi sandrine! What inspired you to create your company?
I decided to study nutrition as I wanted to understand from a scientific point of view how nutrition could help with type 2 diabetes and cholesterol that runs in my family. I started making some personal nutritional changes and after seeing the huge impact those changes had on me and those around me, I was fired up to share what I learnt with more women. Lush Nutrition helps women understand how to nourish their bodies for better health. We can’t change our genes but we can change our diets.
How can people benefit from having you as a nutrition coach?
My role as a nutrition coach is to inform and guide you to achieve your personal health goals through nutrition and lifestyle adjustments. It is about educating, changing habits and sustaining those changes for the long term. Sometimes it is hard to do it all on your own. It is important to find the right person & this is why I offer a free 15 minutes discovery call to make sure we are the right fit, and to explain how I can help you.
How does your 6-week programme differ to other well known eating plans?
My 6-week programme is my most popular programme. It is a totally bespoke 1:1 nutrition coaching service, that is simple, practical and enjoyable. Some of my clients can see great results even after just one week. It is a non diet – not counting calories approach with an emphasis on diversifying & enjoying what you eat.
After analysing your health questionnaire and food diary, your personal health plan is prepared, in order to understand the root cause of what concerns you and putting in place a plan of action to meet your health goals. You will receive plenty of ongoing support for 6 weeks, with 3 consultations, 3 dietary reviews, and unlimited 1:1 WhatsApp touch base contacts, to answer your questions and to give you plenty of accountability along the way. I can also include some cooking demonstrations and food tasters, if this is something you may be interested in doing (optional).
I also share some great nutrient dense recipes, suggestions of what to have in your fridge & cupboards for quick & nutritious meals, many helpful tips & snacks ideas. But don’t take my words for it, I invite you to check my testimonials.
What advice would you give to people who love to eat out, but find this difficult to do in a healthy way?
I also love eating out! It is a good way to try new food but you need to be informed about your menu choices and I can help with that.
What is your favourite healthy and nutritious meal?
I have so many favourites! My favourite meal will have to have good quality ingredients and be super tasty! I am interested in mediterranean food because of my background (French & Spanish), and there has been lots of research linking the mediterranean diet with longevity, heart health, better sleep and overall better health. My grandad’s & dad’s paella will always be a firm favourite of mine.
What is the most common mistake people make when trying to ‘get healthy’?
Cutting calories! Restricting their diet! Removing macronutrients (such as choosing low fat and cutting all carbs) from their meals! Wanting a quick fix!
How can you help someone who is struggling with the menopause?
I am 50 and most of my clients are also navigating through this natural stage in life. Every woman experiences the menopause differently. Research showed that the quality of our diet and the bacterial species in our gut microbiome have an impact on menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes, sleep, body fat, inflammation, skin, digestion etc. Don’t fear the change. You can help your body balance your hormones by nourishing your body with what it needs. You can really make a difference with every bite and I would love to show you how.
What is the biggest change someone can make to their lifestyle to kickstart their journey to better health?
You are what you eat. Having better eating habits will have an impact on how you feel, your sleep, your energy levels, your exercise, your general health and longevity. To kickstart your health journey, start by improving what you eat and most importantly start today. I am particularly interested in gut health as it has a huge impact on the working of our whole body & our wellbeing.
When you are not busy at work, what do you enjoy doing in the local area?
I have been living in the local area for the past 30 years (before that I lived in France and Argentina) so I have many favourite things I like to do locally. I like to get my bread from Redbournbury Mill (lovely walk from Redbourn where I live). I also enjoy the local farmers markets where I can get seasonal & local produce and I love to try new local places to eat. As you can see, I just love food! You can enjoy food & be healthy.
