An evening at Home Farm Glamping
An evening watching RY X perform
at Home Farm Live
At home farm live
Last night we were invited to visit the incredible At Home Farm Live, who offer a summer of intimate events and residencies at Home Farm in Elstree. The series of events boast dates from some of the UK’s finest chefs, renowned musicians and innovative theatre troops in a countryside haven where guests dine under trees amid the long grass, and can wander through the fairy lit woods to a secret woodland stage - which is exactly what we did.
We were invited to watch one of our favourite musicians RY X (an Australian artist who travels the world performing at his sell-out shows). Last night we had the pleasure of watching him perform on a beautiful cabin-like stage in a small woodland encompassed in tall trees covered in fairy lights - which was an absolute dream. We sat on straw-bale seating with the moonlight shining through the trees and unlike at most gigs, in-between songs you could hear a pin drop. For any music lover, this is pure magic and especially for an artist like Ry. He performed a stunning mix of old classics and new ones from his upcoming album which sounded absolutely incredible in the middle of quiet woodland - the setting and acoustics will be hard to beat.
The ticket included a hog roast for the meat eaters and veggie options otherwise, along with a delicious brownie for desert which were all of an incredibly high standard polishing off the evening perfectly.
HOME FARM
If you don’t know Home Farm - you need to. The Gibbs family have farmed here in Elstree for over 400 years. Tucked away between fields and woodland this little slice of paradise offers glamping at its finest in nothing but nature. We say nothing, but really we mean everything and more. It is an opportunity for you to reconnect with nature in 150 acres of private woodland, fields and lakes.
Here you will find beautifully furnished yurts and bell tents with comfy beds and luxurious cosy bedding, all equipped with a fire pit for keeping you warm whilst watching the stars of an evening, a barbecue and an outdoor seating area. For those of you for whom camping sounds daunting, there are heated indoor showers, flushing loos and hair dryer sockets just a short stroll away, hot water for tea and coffee and cool boxes to keep your wine cold. You can even order a delicious supper for the Friday night and the team will deliver it to your campfire to be warmed up once you’ve settled in.
SouLand
For the yoga lovers you can find SouLand Yoga - yoga classes, workshops & retreats at Home Farm Glamping several which have been held by our members - Bodhi Aspirations, Move with Mecia and Woodland Yoga.
We had a truly wonderful evening in such a magical place which we can highly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon.
