In November, Smallford Farm Shop were delighted to announce the opening of a brand-new butchery counter offering a trained butcher in store weekly from Thursday to Sunday.
Mimram Valley Butchers are a quality butchers supplying fresh and local produce for wholesale and to the public, direct through their farm shops. Owner Harry Elsden has been rearing lambs and pigs for ten years, many of which can be seen at county shows. Their produce has been in retail for about 18 months, and Mimram have been supplying to trade, hotels and restaurants for twice that.
Their grass-fed lamb and woodland free range pork are produced themselves at Tewinbury Farm. Their organic chicken comes from Hitchin, their beef is locally sourced and they also offer game including local pheasants, partridges and venison.
Mimram Valley Butchers offer a variety of sausages including Pork and Leak, Pork and Apple, Honey and Mustard, Lamb and Mint, Turkey and Cranberry, Chicken and Apricot, and their Cumberland Sausage being the most popular.
