The Glow Skin Clinic

We caught up with our member Alice of The Glow Skin Clinic to learn all about her jouney into creating her own skin clinic.

Hi Alice, we are pleased to have you as a member of We Are Harpenden. Please tell us what you offer your clients at The Glow Skin Clinic.

Hello, It’s lovely to be a part of We Are Harpenden. I offer luxury skin treatments such as Hydrafacial, SkinPen microneedling, Dermalux light therapy, AlumierMD chemical peels, advanced facial sculpt massage, and Doctor-led aesthetic services.

What is your background and technical training?

I’m a NVQ Level 4 skin specialist with advanced qualifications in facial sculpt massage, micro-needling, microdermabrasion, cryotherapy, dermaplaning, light therapy, and chemical peels. I also hold NVQ Level 3 in facial electrical treatments such as radio frequency, high frequency, and galvanic, as well as a NVQ qualification in Anatomy and Physiology. My first degree was in Jewellery Design, and I come from a creative background in retail design and marketing before transitioning into skincare and becoming a facialist.

What specific services can people expect at your clinic?

  • Acne treatments

  • Pigmentation treatments

  • Ageing skin treatments

  • Rosacea treatments

  • Microneedling with SkinPen

  • SkinPen microneedling combined with Polynucleotides for advanced skin regeneration

  • Chemical peels with AlumierMD

  • Luxury medical-grade facials combining Dermalux light therapy, facial sculpt massage with luxury oils, and Hydrafacial.

If people are nervous about which procedure(s) to undertake, how are you able to put them at ease?

I take a completely personalised approach, starting with an in-depth consultation where I listen to their concerns, answer any questions, and clearly explain the treatment options. I never rush, and I make sure every client feels comfortable and informed before we begin. My clinic is designed to feel like a relaxing retreat, so clients feel safe, pampered, and confident in their treatment plan.

What are common misconceptions that people have about medical-grade skincare?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that medical-grade skincare is too strong or harsh for everyday use. In reality, these products are formulated with clinical precision to deliver real, visible results while still being kind to the skin. Another misconception is that they’re only for people with serious skin issues, but anyone can benefit from the powerful ingredients and targeted formulations.

Where is your clinic, and how do you make it as relaxing as possible?

My clinic is based in Caddington Woods. I take a personalised approach to the whole experience—clients choose their preferred music and drink even before they arrive. The space is designed to be luxurious and calming, with beautiful decor, soft candlelight, and a cosy heated treatment bed to help clients fully unwind.

How important do you think it is for people to get help with their skin?

It’s incredibly important. Our skin is our largest organ, and it reflects not just our age but our health and lifestyle too. Whether someone is struggling with a skin condition or just wants to feel more confident, professional support can make a world of difference. Investing in your skin is an act of self-care.

Which treatments do you undertake for your own skin which you might recommend to others?

Regular SkinPen microneedling with polynucleotides, Hydrafacial, and my AlumierMD skincare routine. I swear by Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, retinol, and a great SPF—they’re non-negotiables for healthy, glowing skin.

What are the core values of the business? What makes up the essence of Glow Skin Clinic?

The Glow Skin Clinic is all about results-driven skincare delivered with luxury and care. The core values are trust, transparency, and transformation. Every client is treated with warmth and respect, and each treatment is tailored to their unique needs. I combine advanced science with a nurturing, holistic approach so that people leave not only looking better but feeling better too.

If you could give one tip which everyone had to implement for their skin, what would it be?

Never skip SPF—rain or shine. It’s the simplest and most powerful step you can take to protect your skin from premature ageing, pigmentation, and environmental damage.

What are your favourite spots in Harpenden to go to in your spare time?

Silver Palate is definitely a favourite—such a lovely atmosphere and great coffee. I also enjoy exploring the local boutiques and parks. Harpenden has such a warm, welcoming feel.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I set up my business following a redundancy while I had a newborn baby and a toddler. My home-based skin clinic quickly grew into an award-winning, local favourite skin clinic. Now, I also mentor and coach other women in the skin industry through 1:1 coaching. I truly believe that with the right mindset and guidance, you can achieve anything.
